Chop Your Own Wood

"Chop your own wood, and it will warm you twice"
Henry Ford

I've spent the last week in the foothills of Virginia, working on a new home for a client. Since I live on the coast, it's nice to travel and work in a different environment. The house is coming along. What makes me so happy (the client too!) is how warm and inviting it is already. There is no furniture, the windows are bare, the lighting is minimal, and accessories have yet to be placed, but there is a sense of expectation, promise, and memories to be made for this delightful family of five.
